Message from Principal Lorow:

Kindness Campaign

Dear Families,

Wow! Here we are in December! Time is flying by! The first Trimester of the year ends on December 12, 2022. Teachers will be working on report cards prior to the winter break. Parents will be able to access their student’s elementary progress report on the Source during winter break. If you have not already created a Source account here is the link https://ps.seattleschools.org/public/

The 3 weeks of school leading up to winter break can be a challenging time for students. Students may be excited about upcoming holidays and celebrations at home. Some students and families experience additional worries and concerns at this time of year. Staff are focused on maintaining consistent routines and expectations at school to support our students.

We will have a schoolwide Kindness Campaign for the month of December. Teachers will be looking for positive behaviors and student kindness. Teachers will reward students with Cocoa Bux whenever they see kindness. The students will then have the opportunity to turn the Cocoa Bux into hot cocoa and toppings on Friday, December 9th and Friday, December 16th during their lunch.

Flu Shots + COVID Boosters

The Neighborcare Health Clinic at Roxhill is offering Flu Shots for all Seattle Public School students on Mondays and Thursdays. They are also offering Moderna Bivalent COVID Boosters to Roxhill students and families 6 years old and up on Thursday, December 1, 8 and 15.

All services are FREE. To schedule an appointment, call/text (206) 490-0802 or email aliciaw@neighborcare.org

See’s Candies Fundraiser

Buy chocolate for you and your loved ones through our See's Candies fundraiser. 100% of the profits go to our non-profit PTO Friends of Roxhill Elementary. Help us spread the word by sharing the link to the Roxhill See's Candies shop:

The last day to order is this Friday, December 2.

Holiday and Household Support Fundraiser

The Holiday Support for Roxhill Families Fundraiser will bring cheer to about 50 of our families who could use assistance with presents, meals, and household supplies. Help us meet our fundraising goal by the end of this week so we can provide each family with a $200 gift card before winter break. Every child should have a holiday meal and present, and parents and caregivers could use less stress this holiday season.

100% of donations go directly to families and are tax-deductible.
