Hello New Friends
We're so happy to meet you! This can be a pretty confusing time. We have info and resources for you below. We can't wait for your child to become a Roxhill RoxStar and for your family to join our amazing community.

Virtual Video Tour
We wish you could come tour the school in-person, but until then the school staff have made this video tour for incoming families.
School hours:
7:55 a.m. - 2:25 p.m.
Early Release Wednesday: 7:55 a.m. - 1:10 p.m.
Students may arrive at 7:40am when supervision is available. Currently SPS guidance is that no families enter the building. Our drop-off procedures will be similar to last year. Walkers can enter through the north parking lot on 34th Ave and Holden. We will have curbside drop-off and pickup again this year with a slight change where buses will drop off on Holden and families going north on 34th Ave SW.
Kindergarten Jump Start:
August 15-19, 2022
9am-12pm
Jump Start is a free transition-to-kindergarten program offered at most Seattle elementary and K-8 schools in late August. Jump Start is a time to build relationships and create an inclusive, welcoming school community. During Jump Start, teachers provide a variety of fun activities that all students can feel successful doing as they learn about their classroom and school. Teachers observe students working independently and in small and whole class groupings.
Here is a link to the resources page with registration forms:https://www.seattleschools.org/departments/early-learning/resources/
Please complete the registration form and send it to Jacquelyn Ksidakis jbksidakis@seattleschools.org or Christa Howsmon cjhowsmon@seattleschools.org.
A few reminders: Jump Start is a free program for families and is designed to be a little intro to the Kindergarten year at Roxhill. While we will make time for families and teachers to connect before and after the Jump Start days, Jump Start is just for kindergarteners. Families will practice dropping their student off and picking them up just like the normal school year (: Free breakfast and snack/lunch will be provided. Busses are not available however pre-loaded ORCA transit cards will be available to assist families with transportation barriers.
After School Care Servicing the Area:
Many Roxhill families require after school care for their children. "After care" is care for your child after the school day has ended. There are more providers near us and private daycare options, this is just to help you get started. Programs fill up fast. So the earlier you sign up, the better.
Located less than a mile from school, there's a yellow school bus that picks children up from Roxhill Elementary at the end of the school day and takes them to Highpoint Community Center for this program. You will need to sign them up at Highpoint for the program and also contact bus services to get your child added to the bus route. *Financial help may be available
Roxhill Elementary is a YMCA after school site. This mean that the YMCA offers after care at our school and grownups can pick their child up right from the school. If you are interested in YMCA aftercare, sign up here: LINK *Financial help may be available
Special Education & IEPs:
The SPS Special Education department works collaboratively with the school and your family to provide the guidance, supports, and services needed to ensure students with disabilities succeed. A referral is your first step in this process. It's a written request for evaluation and your evaluation will determine what services your child can receive. Learn more here.
"The school looks like it should be a movie set. It's such a beautiful classic brick schoolhouse."

Our School
Originally built in 1926, our historic school went through a multi-year modernization and renovation completed in 2018. A lot of the original architecture remains, but we now have many updates and the latest modern tech. The best of both worlds!
